Marianne: Hi! I went to Indigo last night thinking it was open to 9 p.m., only to find out it was only open to 7 p.m. I literally threw books into my basket and ended up with the Darkyn series. Have you read this and if yes, what do you think?

And if I ever get a chance to see your personal library, I'm sure I'll think I've died and gone to heaven:). Its so wonderful to see other folks who love these writing genres so it doesn't have to be my guilty pleasure anymore. The pictures of book covers and little write ups are drool worthy. Twist - Spotlight & Review

Twist

Twist by Colby Hodge   Published by Shomi/LoveSpell

(from back cover) " You can never predict... Abbey Shore never intended to be the savior of the world; it was just something that happened - like her father's tragic death and the fact that she's now poor and "flipping" houses in the Chicago suburbs to finish college. And there's more: behind a crumbling wall in her current renovation, a swirling vortex hides. It's a gate, a portal - and it will not only cast her into the arms and power of the enigmatic yet doomed Dr. Shane Maddox, but also into the clutches of Lucinda, the eerie, leather-clad beauty who shadowed his every move in the Sacred Heart ER. Abbey will soon be one hundred years in the future, in a dying land filled with roving bands of humans fighting for survival, and the "ticks" against whom they fight. Oh yes, Abbey's life has had a... TWIST. Time is running out to twist things back".

Once again, a new take on the whole vampire theme, and I enjoyed it alot. Abbey is a very likable character who goes on a roller-coaster ride of an adventure, and falls in love in the process. Somehow, the story was slightly reminiscent of the Matrix for me, but different enough to keep me turning the pages. I found the Fantasy, Sci-Fi, Paranormal and Romance mix really well done. I will be looking for more books from this author as well as from the Shomi line in the future.
